Armistice Day

At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month the guns of the Great War fell silent.

I've previously posted about what I've been able to find out about my families involvement in the WW1. We were perhaps one of the luckier families - everyone came home.

18,277 Kiwi's were and their families were not so lucky... as that was our total number of casualties.

After seeing Peter Jackson's "They Shall Not Grow Old", I headed to the Auckland War Memorial Museum for some of the events there.

Lest We Forget.
