Omaka Classic Fighters - Day 4

The return to the dust bowl....

No wind on the Sunday, but plenty of heavy low cloud. For the show, it meant pretty much everything would be able to fly today, but some of the displays were reduced due to the cloud level.

From a photography point of view... it was much harder. Lots of cloud and in some cases just a wash out of the background. I've converted a lot more to black and white in this set as it gives them a more dynamic look against the overcast backdrop.

If I lie here.. maybe no one will notice...

Enjoy.

I think I can... I think I can... the Pither very nearly gets airborne. Just not quite enough airspeed...

We  have lift off! :)

 Ground attack!

Not the same fiery explosion as Saturday, but understandable really.

One or two planes....

And with that, the show came to a close. Three days of awesomeness. We'll be back in 2017!

I did get a couple with my mug in them....(photos taken by Lee)

My photoshop skills are weak, but when I saw the guy putting around on the little bike, I had to give this a go... :)

With the imminent retirement of the Huey's, it seems fitting to end on a photo of a UH-1. That unmistakable sound will be missed.

Thanks for looking. I hope you enjoyed the photos... there were a few! :)

  1. Great shot of all the planes in the final fly by, and the loading of the bomb.
